I posted it on the LFS-forums(link: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=82162), but I drop it here as well:

Hello racers,

I have a problem with LFS. When I start LFS, there is no problem. Singleplayer works fine. But when I want to go online, there is a problem.

I can choose a server from the list (or go to a specific host immediatly), and after I click it, I get the loading screen (where the skins etc are downloaded). But then, when I should be looking with another driver, there is a black screen. I do hear some sounds (like the bleepy-thing when something is coming into the chat), but no cars. The only way to shut LFS down is using alt+F4 or task manager.

Once again: It is only when I am going online.
I had it yesterday as well, so I looked at my graphic-settings, changed something, and changed it back, and it worked. But that didn't help me out now.

PC specs:
CPU: Core i7 2600K @3,4 GHz
RAM: 12 GB
OS: Win 7 64bit
Video: MSI GTX 550-Ti
LFS version: 0.6E

No overclocking or modding or whatsoever. I installed my pc freshly this week, and all updates are done.

Hmm..

So LFS has worked well after the clean install and updates?

All i could think of are the videocard drivers, but since the game works with singleplayer... i dont know :-?

Try asking this same question in the LFS forums, maybe someone with more knowledge of this stuff can answer better

Have you tried to start another onlinegame? Is there the same problem?

I tried different online games, but they all work fine. The problem only occurs with LFS.

@ Frozeni:
I posted it on the LFS-forums(link: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=82162), but I drop it here as well:

Allready did that ;)

But it even worked after all the updates. Last update is installed thursday, and I drove thursday evening and yesterday. In the meantime there were no updates voor Windows, nor I installed anything new.

Hmm, I did not see that one. But it is something like that yeah, but not the same.
I can go to windows, and back to LFS, but still I have a black screen. I tried turning of the virusprogram (Norton).
It is not possible it is Java or Adobe or Windows updating. I checked that one (by removing Adobe and Java), and Windows asks me if I want to update.

But I will try to give LFS a higher priority in the taskmanager. But first I am having dinner here.
I will keep you updated.

Ok, it worked for now. Let's see if it keeps working for the rest of the time.

Thanks for looking into it guys!

Yeah, but I got the black screen  And I have a fix for now...
During connecting to a server, start taskmanager.... Then there is no problem

Weird fix.

I say there is something wrong with your graphics drivers. The latest update isn't always the best also, remember that.

Hmmz, I din't updated the graphic drivers... That could be the problem as well.

But why is everything working (other games, LFS singleplayer, LFS replays), except the online part of LFS?
That looks wierd to me...

@OTone: No, I won't throw LFS in the bin, and no I am not throwing my computer away.

Updated the Graphic drivers, but still no fix. It stays the same.

And in my opinion it is really wierd that I have to start the taskmanager during connecting, not before or after, but really during connection.

And I am dissapointed in the fact that no one reacts on the LFS forum.

Thats because lfsforum sucks

Rename cfg.txt in your LFS directory (it then creates a new one), see if that helps.

OK, renaming the cfg.txt didn't work. But I found a fix for it.
When you go to the multiplayer, there is an option to get LFS windowed when you are connecting. That is on "No" now, and now it works. I don't know what the real problem is, but it works for me. So I am happy.

I don't understand it either, but it was never a problem, until last week. But I turned it off, and now it is ok.

@Litro: I have the idea that your CapsLock is stuck

When does it happen? When playing LFS, or with other games as well?
I know you had the problem yesterday (you asked me for my solution), but I did not read the real problem.
Is it only in multiplayer? Is it only with LFS?

PS: Are you running an GTX 480 (or another GTX 4XX series) as vid-card? The "BCCode: 116"-notification tells me it is a problem with your video-card (driver problem or hardware problem). I had a similar problem with a ATI-card (other game though, but same notification). And when I search for "BCCode: 116" I see quite a lot things with a GTX 480 (and other 4XX series) and a BSOD.

Ah, I got a fresh install as well. Try some other drivers for your videocard. Try the newest driver, but older drivers as well. And try changing some videosettings in LFS as well. That can help also.
