I just want to ask if someone knows if different Countrys have different Rules for the direction flash?

In my Country if you flash in one direction it means you plan to go at this direction and other cars drive by on the opposit site. And if i remember correct, in Drivingschool ( ages ago...) i learned it that way.

On the LFS Server its often exactly the other way, they flash in one direction but they want you to pass in the same direction. So sometimes i didnt know wich site to pass at the end.

I hope my poor English can describe what i mean.

In racing flashing left means that the car behind can pass on the left side.

When you are driving on the road, here in Holland, the side you flash means the side which you are going to.

Ah ok, thats something i realy didnt know. I always thought that there is no difference between Racing- and Streetrules in that case. But you never know all :wink:

I did not know that in the beginning as well. So don't mind :D

But what I do wanna know, is how I can assign my button on my shifting console to my blinkers. I can't find that in the options screen in LFS. Maybe you know?

Yes it's /press 7 for left light and so forth for the rest 8,9,0.

I also didn't know that, I thought the blink right-go right rule was true here, so I always have let everyone pass this way. Well.

I thought the same, but then I had to overtake a backmarker, who blinked left, so I overtook him on the right side. This resulted in a major crash... Killed the race of both, I was leading my class, he was leading his class. Oops :oops: That's when I learned.

Yeah, ok, but in what submenu it is? I can't find it in the LFS menus.

It is just there on my keyboard when driving LFS:
7 = left indicator
8 = right indicator
9 = both indicators
0 = all off

But thisis somethi8ng that is dangerous in LFS: some indicate left and mean you can pass left, others mean pass right.

Fortunately I almost never pass anyone, so it is not a big problem for me :lol:

Thanks tRoopeR! I didn't know what that part was for, now I know.

@Speedy: I never had something like that. I know that some servers have it in their server rules. And as far as I know, it is that you indicate the side where you want them to overtake.

And you pass some people as well, except yesterday, you got on your roof instead of taking T1 ;)

I rarely use the direction flashes, mainly because i dont have time for it or the fact that i dont know which one means what. Few times i've used it, it's come by instinct to flast in the direction i am moving..

But it's great to have this cleared =)

I think the side where the turn signal flashes is the side you should stay to get passed! In real live on the nordschleife it is the same. Turnsignal right says pass me on the left, Turnsignal left pass me right!

But passing cars on the right is in Germany mostly forbidden also on the nordschleife too!
Sometimes the police make radar controlls on the nordschleife too, that is germany! :lol: :thumb_d:

I agree on that. It still is unclear what to do.
