Hi

I've allways thought the un-interpolated steering wheel and pedals in MPRs was really annoying, and therefor I've never made any onboard videos. But I tried FRAPS the other day, and it seems to be working great most of the time. There are some FPS drops here and there, but for the most part I'm able to reset the recording without crashing when it happens.

Anyways, here are some live ingame footage from a few races on Westhill. And yes, this is recorded as I play, so everything you see in these videos is what I see when I race.

Because my laptop harddrive only can write about 60 MB/second, I have to choose between 60 FPS and low resolution, or 30 FPS and high resolution. Video material shot at 30 FPS is just choppy and unpleasant to watch, even when it is recorded from a 60 FPS game session.
So instead I shot everything at 60 FPS in half frames (lower resolution). Youtube supports a maximum of 30 FPS, so I use the overshooting frames to interpolate between frames. This gives a sort of motion blur effect that you can see in the preview images for the videos before you hit the play button. At its best, it's just an illusion that my 30 FPS Youtube videos are smoother than 30 FPS.

Technology going far these days. Nice!

What GFX chipset on the laptop?

Mobility Radeon HD 6990M. It's powerful, but can get a bit hot. The fans and heat sinks require some cleaning maintainance.

That last video on AS is excellent commercial footage for LFS.

I will be at my sisters place tonight, so I will miss the great oppertunity to record GT2 sunday. Would have been alot of great footage if I started a little back of the grid.

No, I just tweaked the engine sound myself to make it sound a bit beefy. In unrestricted FZR it sounds a bit weird.

Here are two new ones from AS4. I finally found out how to fix my connection issues and lag, so these are a bit more pleasing to watch without car jumping all over the place. For unkown reasons you have to watch them on Youtube to accsess fullscreen mode.

Fov is default 90 degrees, and I prefer Norvegia cheese.

I have some more footage from saturday STD, but I have to review it to see if it is any good/interesting. I have one nice race with eXeYn on KY3 during GT2 sunday that I will upload when I got time.

Excellent video. And yeah, that was my best last sector in last lap erver, I won two positions there.
