Post subject:  About the start grid ordering

To keep the start as clean as possible, cars are placed on the grid based on car class.

So GTR's are placed in front, and the slowest (XFG+XRG) are placed in the back.
Secondary sorting in the class itself takes place based on your PB.

Due to a LFS limitation it's not possible to form a nice start grid after a track change so that still generates some mess.

When you switch from a faster class to a slower class during grid formation, you will also hold your position in front of the pack. Be aware that you selected a slower car and let faster cars pass to avoid major crashes in T1 (also known as turn one, or first corner).

Haha I like you explanation about T1.

Seriously though, people should be alot more carefull for T1 or bocht 1. There are still alot of

crashes.

I'm afraid we can keep saying that forever but if it ever is going to change. Doubt it...

Did you change this? I always wondered why I start very often from pole position or 2nd place while faster drivers are starting behind me. Mostly it results in good races, but sometimes it just scares me.

hehe T1 or turn 1 should be named Crashsite 1 sometimes :D

But if only people do some early braking and not the late crash-brake all will get thru without problems :D

No offence or attack on any what so ever

I think starting positions should be given by safety rating. This way it promotes safe driving and good and fast drivers don't start from the back in car/track combos they never drove before.

But then you have all the 'tards crash braking into the back of the safe drivers in turn 1.
The safe drivers then get yellow flags through no fault of their own.
