Post subject:  Car models in multiplayer

Hello

I recently purchased LFS and now racing in your servers and would like some more information about modding the car models in game and how they affect multiplayer. I found that there's tons of customization in this game with mods for cars from LFSMODS.com but would they affect the games ability to connect to a multiplayer servers? I haven't done much with modding yet but I would assume it is similar to Counter Strike. That the skins would only affect my game and I would be the only one able to see the remodeled cars. Can someone help fill me in this ?

Thanks Hamburgerman

correct. u and u alone only see this.

but would they affect the games ability to connect to a multiplayer servers?

it does.. it makes u get a cpw error and u are banned for 24hours. with a standard lfs instalation u can play 24/7 without even reconnect (might happend tho u get d/c cause of ur isp or smth but u get the point. + if u get this CPW ban to mutch u get a GLOBAL Ban that are 30days+. what this means ? well. do u like to play online with u friends on anny servers ? well dont go and catch a GlobalBan then cause u cant even connect to annything. :fp:

I found that there's tons of customization in this game with mods

u sure u got the name correct of this sim ? its LiveForSpeed racing sim.
NOT NeedFoorSpeed. Nfs.. oki.. its cool. but really. arcade games > no thanx for me.

You can always improve the reflections and such by getting texture packs and such.

Using those wont affect multiplayer experience at all, and what i've noticed they improve the car reflections and general texture quality a bit.

Why on Earth would you go for mods after you just bought your license???
There are 20 regular cars, 6 tracks with altogether 50 different track combinations, plus open configurations.... This means there are at least exactly 1,000 combinations of cars & tacks for you to get accustom to before getting bored and move to mods.....

Then why buying LFS? RF2 or iRacing should be much more attractive to those.
