Setups are mostly self-made, matching the driving style.

Someone might prefer corner entry oversteer and neutral or a bit of understeer on full throttle apex, someone the opposite.
Brake distribution differs too, someone drives carefully early race, giving 100% on final laps, needs different tires...
One might be good enough on cornering, lower downforce, another needs more

... and so on!

There are some basic principles we all know (especially those who are deeper into racing and physics) setting up suspension, gear ratios etc... next goes driving style, skills which are tottaly driver's preference.

Skagen for example, sent me his FZ2 setup for Westhill reversed... i tried it and i barely managed to do laptimes fast enough. Didnt manage to catch up my average laptime, being 2sec slower, no matter what. He's driving in completely different way than me... even if he's so fast, doesnt mean he has the super amazing setup! He has what fulfills his own needs!

Yeah, true. Skagens setups are very different from mine :D Mostly doing worst lap times with his setup than mine. :D

Hmmh, i quess that's useful tool to get base for a setup.. Nothing else, as Morx said there are so much different driving styles, skill levels and personal preferences that you must do the small tweaking yourself.

Already used RAF Ripper on a few occasions.. but that app doesn't give me tyre camber/pressure/wing angles.

Lets see what this can do. Thanks :woop:

new version
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4MAJzrc30k

v0.44
- auto-rescan every second
- added support for SPR (HL only) files ( name is car_track_laptime.set)
- no longer spr/mpr checkboxes, program converts all in replays folder
- more checks for invalid replays/data
- option to limit setup name length (because LFS cannot read too long setups)
- added visual styles (windows xp,7 themes)

-experimented with some multi-thread algorithms, but it seems like it doesnt really help much, its more about HDD

For lazy ones here is WR setup packhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_Qy5g4LTTo :honger:

Enjoy

I'm wondering, why LFS stores car setup data into a replay file ?

Because it needs it to replay that mpr (to calculate physics of each car), same as while regular ingame play.

Oh you're right with that !! :thumb:

It didn't even cross my mind that when someone has different suspension height in example, can be seen in recorded replay!!

Im stupid
