Post subject:  Host has a different game code?

S2, S0, OW and GTR server.

1) Download: http://www.lfs.net/file_mirror.php?name ... _TO_6E.exe
2) Extract and update/replace your LFS installation directory with those files.
3) Fixed 8)

Make a backup of LFS.exe to be able to change back to 0.6B, some hosts are not updating that quickly!
* and you can easily switch between versions then, no need to unlock your account when you switch

Quote:

Improved multiplayer system :

Game only needs host packets to continue processing
Quicker joining to host - no waiting for other players
No waiting for packets from players with slow connections
Leaving a host is instantaneous even if a guest is connecting
Longer timeouts avoid disconnection due to short interruptions

(NOTE : no change to physics - old replays are still valid)

Other changes :

Two new translations : Indonesian and Romanian
New hacker protection applied to multiplayer packets
Improved checks on validity of user names while connecting
User names now confirmed with master server after connection
OOS / CPW messages now show user name instead of player name
Removed message "Got master packet" from network debug output
No buffer overflows from hangs or operating system time changes
User name in brackets now shown at end of disconnection messages
New "Authorised" message on host links user name with ip address
Race setup screen /clear command can now only be used by admins
Ability of guests to vote or select tracks now enforced by host

InSim :

Added new leave reasons (CPW / OOS / JOOS / HACK) for IS_CNL
Change to in-game usage of IS_REO - only valid after SMALL_VTA

Fixes :

Custom view was not set to new car type on replay restart
Duplicate lines in scripts could cause unexpected results
Virtual speedo sometimes overlapped numbers (e.g. XRG km/h)
Circuit length is no longer displayed for open configurations
LFS could crash when displaying laps for fuel after short laps
Ready status in lobby is now checked when a player disconnects
Load WE1R on dedicated host - Checkpoint 1 path node not found
User's controller type was not shown after taking over a car
SHIFT+R near end of SPR could make cars swap between players

In the readme it says:

By installing this software you agree to the following :

- Live for Speed is in continual development.

I dont agree, does that mean I cant install the patch ;)

Just joking I'm impressed Scawen is still working on it!

Yeah but we have problem with Airio in this new patch. As soon as Airio connects everybody gets kicked out of the server with a Security 93 error hhmm

Because Scawen made a mistake; http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php? ... ost1743168

We are back on 0.6B4 for a moment

I'll leave S0 and GTR off-line for the moment and then first start testing with some peopz on GTR when an update is there. I was a bit too enthusiastic ;)

It was a short evening, only 4 hours to inform people. First they think there is a server problem because its not in the list. Then they join S1 and stay there. Some try to search for the update but cannot find it. Now put a message on the front page to assist with that.

But 20 on the grid (see replay section) its half of a server. Not bad. Just give it more time. It's just a temporarily situation. I have two accounts so can be online on the S2 and S1 server at the same time so I can keep helping people (only S1, OW and LT appear on the "old" ingame server listings). Also on Teamspeak I had to help some team members in the update process because there was some confusion how to do the update.

But I don't want to stall the testing by delaying updates on servers because I want to offer Scawen test results fast so we can move on faster too 8) .

* Besides, quite some big cruise servers already updated too. TC, WKD, saw some drift servers. So it goes quite nice.

I don't. Otherwise I have no way to communicate to the people who do not know it yet, to know it.

But for all negroes who didn't make a backup of the original 0.6B LFS.exe, I've made the link clickable in the red section.

You just need two LFS exe's to switch between le versions/servers.

strange what happen to cg2 after this testpatch....

Maybe the Admins should think about to go back to old version until the official Patch is out? I dont know if it brings the people back or not but i think give it a try

I read all the comments here and on LFS Forum and i understand that its helpfull to test a patch on a popular server  but sadly cg2 was one of the last (maybe the last) popular race servers in LFS and now its nearly Empty every evening... not a good Idea

I hope the official Patch comes soon and waiting for the "servers full" on connect sceen :woop:

I am here and will be here for a long time. I just can't believe how lazy people are. All one has to do is put patch LFS.exe in the same folder where everything else is (rename it first, though) and that's it. Make a desktop shortcut for both official and patch exe and enjoy. It doesn't take a rocket science to figure that one out.

But, who am I to judge :x
