Every month you can win a S1 voucher at our demo server. Be the highest ranked demo licensed racer, or the second best of the month and claim your price!

The ranking table (upper right corner) is updated every race. But how do you earn these points?

You need to finish properly (no disqualification)
You need to race more then three laps in a race
If you finish on a higher position then a racer with more points, your points will increase with 1% of his/hers

Example you are racer2;

1. racer1 101.00
2. racer2 100.50
3. racer3 102.00
4. racer4 100.00
5. racer5 104.00

You will get 1% of racer3 and racer5, so 102 and 104 = 206 x 0,01 = +2,06 points
You score no points from racer4 because he has a lower ranking.
You also win 0.05 point a race. Just because.. ( )

Every 24 hours that you do not race you loose 0.75 point.

If you win or get second best after the month ends you must claim your voucher yourself on this forum within 14 days. Thank you!

Unclaimed vouchers go back into the system. Already licensed racers can't claim vouchers and suddenly new fast demo accounts are considered as suspicious. We want only real demo users to win, when in doubt, we have the right to give the voucher to a lower ranked racer. We have all rights anyway

Second, it's a little gift, respect little gifts or you are not worth the big ones. It's an oppurtunity to get more familiar with LFS and we want to make two people happy every month. Not just one.

The server isn't competitive enough for this system to work very good but I'll hope that improves over time.

Due to an inconstancy in the system, the racedata of yesterday evening and this morning is processed in a asynchronous way so points are awarded but the 'last race' timings are wrong in some cases due to MPR files being processed in the wrong timeline.

But, it's a minor issue and won't happen again. Race on

I'm trying to get it viewable also in-game. But, the master coders of PRISM are not ready yet. It's an InSim in my favorite language

You will, it increases slowly... But if you are on top of the list and the grid is full, you have the exact same 'problem'.

and other thing... Is better dont end a race than finish in last? because others will win your points (1%) if they have less points than you and finish in better position, but if you dont finish they will get the points from others but not from you...

It makes some sense yes... It might be fair that racers who do not finish are counted for the one who does finish.. Don't know yet, need to think about if thats better. But currently you can prevent giving away points if you are high ranked by leaving the race yes.

I heard the suggestion to penalize such behavior by giving the one who leaves minus points but that will promote crashing (on purpose) or hate against dropped connections or other negative things that could happen so I don't want to give minus points (!)

I discovered that LFS does not make unique filenames of his MPR replays when you move old replays from the LFS storage directory, which is rather sad because it means loss of data. Really stupid LFS design, I'm sorry to say. Giving the impression that it is unique while its not.

Due to inconsistency I'll have to restart the whole competition with a clean start.

The data which currently exists in the table is not valid though, I will write here when it's correct again.

Now that we have this problem I want to introduce a new system because the one I used has some serious flaws (ways to cheat).

But, I am not sure what to use now to give a representative ranking/performance overview. I asked a person, specialized in these algorithm things to take a look at my problem.

Because MPR's are recorded and stored correctly now, points are made... Have some patience before I can show a good overview.

If you guys have a good formula then I am open for suggestions

I already looked at Chessmetrics for example but I don't get that. 60%, 85 points? Big for me. I look for a formula which I can understand and is fair for racing competition

MPR's contain the finish, positions, times, pitstops, penalties.. So that is not the problem right now.

... The change is that I want a better rating system. I can't just give points based on position like Airio. That isn't fair because the one who drives the most wins, there need to be a mathematical structure behind it. And the current one isn't good enough.

i just want to thank you first for the whole idea..there is a few demo servers for racing..clean races and non of them offers S1 or at least competitive insim

anyway,with new lp system its become kind of unfair for some
players for example 'Litro' here is 'well was' on the top of the lp table
and by new lp sys that means he will have to start all over again 'which is easy given the great pb he have '

but in the other hand there is players like me that not too good and by not too good i mean racing over 10-15 races per day to remain in good position..or is it just me

don't get me wrong here i am with the new system if its reduce the amount of cheating in the server from mods to 'gang racers' , like in the other day i saw a racer who drive through barriers after the first corner and his car remain 'un-touched' and hit a very good split time with 30:2X sec
while i bust my car to have anything under 30:50
or the guys who drive through the gap between the barriers and the wall over and over again and don't get spec'ed for that

this is my 2 cents..and i didn't meant any kind of open fire/flaming/e-wars or pointless argument what so ever.

And yes, about pitstop line cutting - there is many drivers who are cutting pit exit...

Talking about cheating the system. Technically it's not cheating, just a weakness in the algorithm. It was/is possible to boost your points by using another person and let one win, and then yourself.

If you really want a good, reliable ranking system, some complex algorithms must be used. I'm looking to find out how to do that.

Anyway, that pitstop cheating is problem, coz when I drove on right line, cheater passed me without any problems and got a great diff.
And why do you need so complex systems, just do normal racing points, and no problems. We saw that system negative aspects already previous month when 4 drivers pumped points doing great diff, and not so good driver got an licence..

No... Because the person who drives aaaaaaaaaaaa loottt... While have the most points.. Thats not fair either.
